Terms & Conditions
Ordering - please confirm all details and specifics a minimum of 2 weeks before your order is due.
Deposit - A deposit is required on all orders over $75. Deposit ranges from $25 to $100, and all deposits are non-refundable unless the cancellation is on our end and then a refund will be sent within 5 days of us cancelling.
Final Payment - final payment is due upon pick up or delivery of your order. We are happy to take payment earlier and can also work out a payment plan if you need to budget your order out ahead of time. We have the ability to offer "After Pay" which breaks your payment up into 4 payments, there is a 6% service fee for this that After Pay charges us. Our preferred payment methods are cash and Zelle but we do take other payment forms. We do not take check UNLESS it is 7 or more days before the final payment is due.
Dowels in your cake - Please be careful if you order a tiered cake or a tall cake as it WILL have wooden dowels or plastic straws in the cake for support. There is a "social media trend" of smashing peoples faces into cakes, this would not be suggested with any cake over a single tier in size as it most likely contains wooden dowels or plastic straws for stability. Plus it would ruin a perfectly good cake. Please be careful to remove the wooden dowels or straws before serving. We are not responsible if anyone is injured by a dowel or straw in the cake. There are also cake boards in between tiers.
Edible Decorations - I try my best to use edible decorations whenever possible. But please don't try to eat the decor unless it has been indicated that the decorations be edible.
Pick up - If you wish to pick up you order you may coordinate a pick up time. All goods that leave are as is and we assume NO responsibility once they leave our bakery. Please follow the transport guidelines below to ensure that your order arrives safely to its final destination. We DO NOT allow pick up on cakes larger than a single tier.
Transporting your baked goods - You should not transport baked goods on a persons lap or on the seat of a vehicle. The best place for baked goods to travel is in the trunk or on the floorboard of the vehicle. Nothing underneath the box. If transporting in the trunk it is helpful to place something around the box to keep it from sliding but nothing heavy that could damage the box if the box shifts suddenly. Please be careful when breaking, being mindful that the box or cake could shift when you hit the breaks hard. Please be extra extra extra careful to avoid pot holes, curbs, train tracks etc or go super duper slow if they are unavoidable. Always carry the cake from the bottom, even if the box has a handle, the bottom is the safest place. DO NOT leave your order in the car if the temperature is over 60 degrees. And do not place the order on the interior floor board if the heat is on in the vehicle. See refrigeration details below.
Delivery - You will be given a delivery time frame window the day of delivery, we try to arrange this in advance whenever possible. Please ensure someone is available to receive the order and that payment is made before or at delivery. If the person who placed the order will be different than the person receiving the order please be sure to indicate that.
Refrigeration - Whether your order is delivered or picked up, we recommend refrigeration if you are not serving them within a few hours. I use buttercream or cream cheese frosting in most of my recipes. These frostings DO NOT hold up in the heat. Temps over 75 degrees are not their friend, and neither is direct sunlight. Don't believe me, just google it. You can freeze your cake or cupcakes in an airtight container or wrapped in plastic wrap and enjoy them later! If you freeze your baked goods allow them to defrost in the fridge for a few hours if possible before bringing them out to come up room temperature. If there is "sweat" on your baked goods you can carefully dab it with a paper towel if you wish.
Communication - I prefer text message 727-479-3505 or facebook message @jonesin4acupcake to keep all order info in one place. Email is jonesin4cupcakes@gmail.com
Copying Designs - I can use your photos you send as inspiration photos but will not agree to copy any design 100%. You WILL NOT receive a cake that looks "exactly" like the photo you sent. Even if it was my original photo I can not guarantee that my work will look the exact same each time. I do my best though.
Cottage Bakery & Liability Insurance - My kitchen is not a commercial kitchen, so technically I am a home baker. However I have a separate building where my kitchen is located and where I store all my supplies. My kitchen is not inspected. I do have a food handlers license and I am fully insured with commercial liability insurance.
